The Merrill Educational Center teaches many accredited programs, including curriculum accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) to elementary, middle school, and high school students. Students are taught on a one-to-one basis by teachers holding credentials and/or a master’s degree in their respective subject and/or in the area of education.
Students typically attend school four to five hours per day, four to five days per week, leaving time for their activities and the careers they pursue. These multi-talented students often pursue musical, theatrical, and athletic careers, and plan on attending highly competitive universities.
Other students find that they learn better without the distractions and demands present in the traditional classroom environment. Schooling hours are flexible in order to meet the needs of individual families.
To date, all graduating seniors have been accepted to the colleges and universities of their choice. Graduates attend UCLA, USC, Boston College, Brown University, Northeastern University, University of San Francisco, and other prestigious institutions. While we enjoy having students remain with us for all of their high school education, our foremost goal is to prepare students for the following school year, thereby leaving their options open.
“I cannot thank Lynne enough for all the guidance she has given me. She has given me a perspective into learning and a confidence that I never had before. This served to help me obtain my high school diploma, help me succeed at my local community college, and ultimately allowed me to transfer to Boston University’s College of Engineering. My life would not be the same without her. Thank you so much, Lynne!
